What Makes Us Who We Are
"Thoughtful, kind, caring"....are just some of the words used by the employees of Centrifugal Rebabbitting when describing owner Oliver W. "Buddy" Street. He's not your typical, hard-driven businessman out to make a buck. His love of people and the sea is what's driven much of his success to date.
After serving in the U.S. Navy for several years, Buddy carried his nautical experiences back home to his civilian life. In the early 80's, Buddy started out as a ship foreman before partnering and owning his own ship repair businesses. In 1988, Buddy purchased Centrifugal Rebabbitting, Inc. Buddy expanded the company to include ship repair, metal fabrication and specialty machine shop.
Because of various health reasons, Buddy retired in 2008. But true to form, instead of selling the business and reaping the rewards, Buddy thought first of his loyal employees and decided to leave the business for them to continue on the tradition. Although he may no longer be involved in the daily operations, his love for the company, his customers and employees keeps him close at hand.
